What is Holistic Counseling?
Simply put, holism is a philosophy of interdependence that explains that a system cannot be understood by dividing it into seperate parts.
From a holistic lens, mental health symptoms are the body's way of letting us know we are not living in alignment with our authentic self. Rather than making those bad feelings go away, a holistic approach invites us to consider them as doorways to reclaiming our vitality.
The essence of this psychotherapeutic method lies in the idea that change emerges from direct experiential involvement in the present moment. We arrive in the present moment by focusing on emotions and physical sensations in a mindful state of awareness with a container grounded in relational safety.
